The Division's Computer Facility, which provides the capability for image processing and analysis as well as production of materials for publication and presentation, houses computers with a copy of Simple PCI (the proprietary software used for image collection and analysis for the Nikon confocal) and other software for image processing, deconvolution, and 3D reconstruction. The facility also has as a large-format printer for poster printing, a scanner, a tracing monitor, and printers. In addition to the regular staff for the Computer Facility, the Division employs a professional scientific photographer who handles not only high-level photography tasks, but also serves as a Division expert for graphics/image processing.
